Using a Drone for Inspections

@spayson Do you use your drone for only home inspections or do you provide other aerial photo/video services? Thanks!

my phone doesn’t work with the controller. there is some sort of compatibility issue.

instead, I use my wife’s old phone. Instead of throwing it out or stuffing into a drawer, I keep it in the drone case as a dedicated controller.

that is ok. the old phone connects to my wifi so I can still connect the entire system to the internet when I’m home to grab updates, etc. out in the field,

I don’t need internet or 3G/4G phone access, so this works fine.

I could always do a wifi hotspot with my actual phone if I wanted to.

BTW, one thing to keep in mind is that DJI is owned by the Chinese government and it’s kind of an open secret that they can, or do, spy on everyone in the world that’s using their stuff.

The US Army literally threw all their DJI drones in the dumpster, wholesale, when it was discovered that the DJI apps were uploading data to Chinese servers.
