UV Flashlight

Are any inspectors carrying UV flashlights? If so, for what purpose(s)?

I carry a UV inspection light in my bag. It isn’t a flashlight per say, but a flourecent light. They are great for finding mold colonies, biological stains (eg. pet urine), and chemical residue(adhesives). I suggest getting one that has a wave lenght of 340 nanometers. That is the spectrum that most things of interest will fllourece. There are other bulbs that are either above or below that wave lenght, but 340 is pretty good for most stuff. You can pick them up at some police equipment supply companies, hotel supply companies, or some of the home inspection supply companies. Get something you can stick rechargable batteries in because the lights always seem to turn themselves on in your toolbag.
