I’m with you Chris. Trend Micro does the job with very little fuss.

McAfee also seems to be rock solid.

McAfee really screwed with my old computer…didn’t mesh well with windows. That’s why I switched to Norton. Still have a glitch every now and then, but I just live with it as part of the computer world.

If you do not have a router I would install Zone Alarm as well.

They have free versions and tech TV and PC world says they work just as well as Nortans and McAfee. ![icon_biggrin.gif](upload://iKNGSw3qcRIEmXySa8gItY6Gczg.gif) ![icon_biggrin.gif](upload://iKNGSw3qcRIEmXySa8gItY6Gczg.gif)

Don't forget Ad-aware and Spybot!!!!

The first time I ran Ad-aware there were 167 bots on my pc. Run it in custom mode the first time .

I just ran Ad-aware and spybot. Spybot found nothing Ad-aware found 13. Sometimes it is the other way around. You should use both.

Good Job Allen.

I always tend to get people upset when I send that "fake" virus to them.

It's a fantastic "get you back" tool.

Be careful, someone could get a heart attack when they see that window. Use it at your own discretion.

Here's one more....

On a recommendation from Chris, I downloaded the Trend Micro Internet Security 2004 program.

It was somehow gratifying to delete Norton Antivirus and firewall.

The Trend Micro download and installation was a breeze - the program works fine - very nice - so far so good - I'm currently scanning my drives in the background.
