Flat roofs are done no matter what.
Reminds me of commercial rubber roofs. They like to leak.
Back to the roof walking thing. Any new inspectors reading this don't ever walk a roof if you have second thoughts about it. It's your life. It killed a new inspector near me. A new guy under pressure. Forget it!

If your client didn't like the fact you didn't walk the roof that is unfortunate.
I have yet to have a client refuse to retain my services for not going on the roof. Nor have I had any problems on site when inspecting for not going on a roof.
If you fall who is going to pay for your down time?
If you are walking a roof you should be wearing a harness and be tied off.
Do you tie off your ladder?
You can damage an already deteriorating roof by walking.
I do not even go on metal, wood, slate, or tile roofs.
What do you do when the roof is covered in snow or ice?
Too bad for the client, just because someone walks a roof does not necessarily make for a better inspector nor better inspection.
So you lost an inspection, but on the otherhand maybe you don't need such a demanding client?
