What do you think?

These photos are of supports in the crawl space.

The first photo is of a CMU support that is not not resting on a main beam but rather on a cut of wood in between two floor joists.

The second photo is of a wooden support that has settled due to erosion of the ground supporting it.

I called these out as needing further evaluation. What do you all think?

1st picture depends on the span of those joists and the loads above it, if those 2 needed support why not the rest ? Maybe that pier is not really needed, I have seen extra ones that were not used and the framing was ok.

2nd picture is a problem for sure.

Looks like you made the right call. The first picture shows how NOT to add support, as the beam should be under the joists not in them as you noted and the second is self explaining.

Good calls,

Thanks for the reply’s.

Just a quick note. I did not call these out in need of further evaluation but rather in need of repair.
