Apparently Dominic is having trouble recognizing someone else being a smart ass…
Hehehe… It’s all in good fun…

Yes, it is.
Thanks for the info
If it tastes like chicken, keep on licken. But if it tastes like fish, throughout the dish.
And if it taste like cologne, leave it alone.
Is it better when it tastes cheesy? LOL
Marcel! Yuk!
Glad that never happened. LOL
Okay, ye guys! Getting a little outta line in here!
We can blame Jim for his taste tests that led to that.
Yes, Jim is the master!
Never seen expanded perlite. The larnin’ never stops.
" non-fibrous non-asbestos-containing"
Ok, but it’s a mineral. And some pearlite deposits had asbestos.
I would call this out as a potential, and recommend an asbestos test prior to disturbing it in any big way. Like most asbestos it’s best left in place until it must be touched.
Can you back up that statement?
As far as I know;
Perlite is a form of rhyolite, a type of volcanic glass composed of sodium oxide, potassium oxide, aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide.
Perlite is a volcanic glass, and asbestos is a fibrous form of a mineral. They are not normally found together in nature.
Perhaps he is confusing it with vermiculite.
Pearlite is Steel. Iron and carbon in a very specific layered crystalline form. Fe and C, no asbestos.
Perlite is as Marcel said, a volcanic glass. No asbestos.
As Simon said, perhaps you are confused.
Perhaps he is confusing it with vermiculite.
Correct. The comment applied to vermiculite.
" Vermiculite is a naturally occurring mineral that is perfectly safe when pure. Unfortunately, an estimated 75 percent of it came from Libby, Montana, where it usually was contaminated with toxic amphibole asbestos . "
