Can a garage access door have windows? It was a solid/exterior door. But haven’t seen one installed with windows.
Is this proper?

It needs to be fire-rated, doubt the one in your pic is. Was there a sticker on the frame/door?

Only if the door is fire rated including the glazing. Not very common and why would anyone install a door like that looking into a garage?

Mine does. Not like that, but a half panel both being fire rated. Never have seen one with 3/4 glazing in it. But, there is always a first.

its not fire rated. those doors have plastic trim holding in the glass.

The garage was added to the house at a later date, and they left the original entry door.

Scott, I had one this week with the scenario you mentioned, but it was a window, not a door. What an odd view from the living room into the garage.

I’ll have to start a new thread on this one. The punch line is that I didn’t even notice the stripper pole in the middle of the basement bedroom until I was reviewing pictures back in my office that evening. Don’t judge me for overlooking something so obvious that until you hear about what had me so distracted.
