The real purpose of these things are for you to hide them on your website somewhere. You don’t even have to link to your pages that house them. Their main purpose is Search Engine Optimization and they are designed to increase yours.
You know what, you’re right. The section that describes brown and white rot can be used for identification but the best way is to use a probe, such as a screwdriver. Also, it’s important to know how to tell the difference between decay and insect damage. I’ll be updating it soon.
