Zinsco Main Panels in Condos

Inspected a condo today built in 1974 where the typical bank of meters and main disconnects are all together on one end of the building. These were Zinsco Main Panels. There was a GE sub panel in the condo. What are thoughts or recommendations on this?

One throw works for me!

I probably wouldnt even mention it. But it looks like the unit only has a 70 amp feed? That may be worth mentioning. How many bedrooms?

Vintage outdated equipment.

I would not say much of anything, without evidence anything is failing. Maybe mention the rust? If they move to a heat pump for heating, the amp rating may need revisiting, but that’s then, and you’re inspecting now.

There is only one

Thanks for the comments, I agree with the 70 amp and rust recommendations.

Note the problems with the brand. This is always a great point/question - What good does it do for a condo owner to swap their fire hazard panel when all the other units have the same thing (often on an older building with no fire separation)??? In the end we can’t change the world… just inform and move on.
