3 tab roof installation method

21 shingles Marcel.
the last time I counted.
That being a 10 year shingle 67 pound bundle, 3 pack per square, just under 100 Lb. pound per, 100 SQ. foot.
The photos you sent out during a post Marcel, would not pass Quebec standards, that is for sure.
I never used IKO after 1982, they were band from Quebec no 10 year shingle came into place shortly after that.
Some roofers went to Hawkesbury Ontario to still use them and have them match for repairs ETC.
I have not put on **one shingle **nor driven in 1 roofing nail this year.
All stone work and facade. Not much of that ether.
OH yes the church facade in January of the year. Rehanging foe marble panels.
Sorry.

That makes no never-mind, because its redundant counting how many.
Your mind is best suited for other aspects of life and now is the labors time to start counting to learn there trade.

Its men like you Marcel that keep me and others grounded at InterNACHI.
You are OLD SCHOOL( the best school ) and these kids today have missed their step in the beat of the drum, when they march to their own tune of" their own way of thinking" is the right way.
As you so eloquently put it =( when in Rome, you do as the Romans do, regardless of what the book says.:wink:

Brian reads the instructions.

I see you follow them to the’’ letter’’ but that leads to confusion some times Brian, or so I have noticed in my years of using building product’s.
Roofing to me is hard to measure for worth Brian.
So many factors when you are in the field.
From man control to builders form( what he left you to work with ) to weather ETC.
Shortly put , endless variables, it differs greatly from time to time. Same job, same style of building, but differs.
The instructions are just the basic steps put forth by the manufacture to insure standards are met for there obligation (SOP} and product warranting.
Its when you are in the field working with the product ( any product ) the real challenges come up.
Not any 2 situations are the same ( exactly ).
Its like a thumbprint, they all differ.

Marcel, Again you are correct. I remember counting as I was installing and getting different counts and was told they do not count them but build bundles by weight. It’s been several years since I’ve installed shingles. My last roof was a modified Bitumen on my trim carpenters home. When finished I stepped of the ladder and gave him my tools and said goodbye to that trade( I hope too hot down here). I thought that Flintlocks were a different count but that does not make sense because exposure and length equals coverage. Marcel I often think of the perfect crew to get together and build a project. Like fantasy football. And after my short time here at NACHI I put you the head of the team and would work under you any day. You are a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day

How do reading the manufacturer’s installation instructions lead to confusion…The big joke in almost anything that has instructions for its assembly or installation is: If all else fails, read the instructions!!

The instructions are just the basic steps put forth by the manufacture to insure standards are met for there obligation (SOP} and product warranting.
Its when you are in the field working with the product ( any product ) the quote]

You earlier stated that manufacturer’s will use anything to try to wiggle out of a warranty claim, something I have been saying for years, so why would you want to do/not do something that will give the manufacturer an excuse???

Any way Brian,
pick up a hammer and strap on your apron.
Get ready to have sore knee’s and run it out in the field doing observations and tests.
But get your hands dirty and become a man before arguing with others here that have more piratical experience from** being out in that field.**.

That is when you will EARN the PIRATICAL knowledge that MANY HERE clam rightfully and using to answer others questions.
I am sorry if my explanations are limited and to is my vocabulary, but you can not take every away the PIRATICAL EXPERIENCES that I gained and the reputation of being a problem solver to most company’s that I worked for and the trades that I own rightfully.
BE a man and get your hands dirty instead of being such a pompous azz a trouble maker…

Man you are a NUT BARRRRR.

Most company’s relay on trades men knowledge to tweak those instructions** you read** for knowledge.
I am just pointing out the variables you run into , out in the field that can effect the product.
After years of studying for knowledge and acquiring your wealth of information you have in your head Brian, I would think that you would have already deduced or known that.
So again I mention to you, that I have banged my head against the wall many times, trying to make ones as yourself, try to understand that all circumstances and all directions are not and can not be measured equally.
I will not point out my observations to you, because they are secrets I use to be better myself in-front of others.
It aids my conclusions and helps me gain trust from others is all I am going to say for now.

I do not read from you any, humility, but only pompousness and your self defeating arguments with others.

When you gain some humility Brian and start to approach others with that gift from God that allows you to be civil, I might one day sit and ponder my experiences to give you some-more insight into that deep vast wealth of knowledge you hold.
In an effort to aid you on your quest for more.

Till then I can only say good luck to you and hope you start to see that, others around you have experiences and incite.
You get more bees with honey than with vinegar.

The incite and knowledge you look for"" the total understand"" of residential building and HI.
You have a good day Brian.
I will** hopefully** ignore you till I see, servility I your manor.

You won’t be able to do that!!!
