Advertising in Presentation Folders

I tried it this year. It got started/Delivered to the offices in September 2023. I figured if I get one inspection it will pay for it and I have already scheduled a office meeting to introduce myself to the office. If I can get one or more new agents to use me then it will have been worth the cost. I’ll let you know when i get some results!

This may sound cynical (because it is, lol), but I think this is how agents identify which inspectors would be willing to buy lunch for their office.

What area will that be in? If you don’t mind me asking.

David, let us know IF you get results or not, too. Okay?

I advertise in all of the local realtors folders, I get work from them, however if the realtors at that office don’t already work with you, the ad won’t help you

Does the work you get offset the cost of advertising? Also do you normally just do the least expensive ad, or pay for the more expensive ones?

Then what’s the point??

Realtors typically give 3 Inspectors names, this reaffirms my name, only need 1 job to pay for the ad, new realtors will already know my name, now they have my contact info and picture…

I usually get the small ad cheaper for offices that don’t use me a lot, for offices that use me a lot I try to get bigger ad for small add price
You only need one job to pay for the add, hard to track but I believe I make money on the add

If you were the marketing manager for a large firm, you would be out of a job…

That would be difficult to track, however if that’s the advertising you are doing, and your staying busy and making a living with it then it works for you!

I do a lot more marketing than that, but I personally average 400 inspections yearly, I also have other Inspectors, life is good

Kind of a bizarre thing for you to say without any knowledge of my company, but if it makes you proud of yourself, good for you

That can payoff. Be sure to speak with as many as you can personally.

That is a good year and I’d say that whatever you are doing is working. Particularly, in a weak sales year like this one.

Jean-Paul,

If you only get one inspection from the ad, then, you’re spending 100% of your income on marketing and are bound to fail as a business.

Now, if you get 10 inspections from that ad, then you’re spending 10% of your income on marketing and most likely will be successful.

You probably know that but not everyone starting in business will know that and I just wanted to clarify that statement.

Glad to hear that life is good for you, be proud!

I never said I only get one job from it, I never ask potential clients why they phone me, to me that makes it sound unusual for me to get an inspection, kind of desperate sounding. My point is with such a low cost how could you lose money, it only requires one job to break even, simple math. I have close to 5000 inspections, I am not new to the business.

Will do! I did get a call from that office on a commercial job but i was on vacation when they called so I have at least got one call off of it so far.

Lol. I’ve always kinda felt the same. It’s like wow, somebody called me, how’d that happen? Oddly enough though, when I get asked the same question by a company, I know it’s because they are checking on their marketing. I think most people know that, but nonetheless it feels odd asking still.
