Hi all; can anyone offer any feedback on Corentium Pro Radon monitors? I am thinking about buying a unit but never used a system such as this. Any thoughts are appreciated!
Thanks

I’ve used these units from the get go and won’t be changing. The app includes weather history, which is very helpful when the hourly radon chart has unusual patterns. You can customize your reports, although I haven’t taken advantage of that. I have many properties where there is no wifi and no cell coverage. On occasion the phone app won’t work in these situations. Get to know the alternate ways to start your devices and capture your radon data. The device is running all the time so data is always available on the device, whether you are running a test or not. Again, I’m happy and will continue with these units. If you go with the Pro, PM me and I’ll key you in to notes I keep for unusual situations and glitches. Product support is excellent, BTW.
BTW, I own two so I can do duplicates, an important component of your Quality Assurance program and radon results reliability. The app counts your tests and lets you know when a duplicate is due. I like that feature. I don’t have to keep track of duplicates in another manner. I also own two for situations where there are two foundation types, requiring two concurrent tests. You can get around these issues if you use a carbon canister for your duplicates and for multiple foundation types.
I use the Airthings Pro and have no big complaints. The report is fairly customizable, which is great because my state requires certain information about the home and test conditions be put in the report. The units are small and come with a nice case that doesn’t take up much room in the truck. I have 3 units, that way I still have 2 available when one is out for calibration.
Calibration might be my only minor complaint. It takes a few weeks to get the monitor back. I’m hoping they can get this time down moving forward.
Thanks for the info Michael!
Michae!, thanks for the info !
Thanks Ryan!
I have two Corentium Pros and will probably buy at least one more. Like everyone else said, they have great features, the reports are customizable, they’re easy to use, and provide a nice looking report for the client. Recalibration times are slower than I’d like but they’re due at different times so that helps. I’d recommend them.
Airthings has been a great professional asset for our business, and very good to work with. We have 3 units and will purchase more when the opportunity presents itself.
Thanks David; appreciate the feedback! I’m going to set up a call with them to review their programs.
On another note, do you do any business with property management companies? I’m looking to expand into offering maintenance inspections and thought it may be a good target group.
Steven
Steven; I just reviewed my year end income summary. I separate inspection and radon testing income. Looking at the gross income from those two sources, 75% was inspection and 25% was radon income.
If you are looking for additional income, you should consider radon mitigation. If you are following AARST Standards and the EPA Radon Action Level Recommendations, there is no conflict of interest to offering both testing and mitigation. My State, a licensed State, sees no conflict of interest to offering both testing and mitigation by the same company. From the realtor’s perspective, offering both testing and mitigation is a good business strategy for you.
