Anybody know how to remove the jets from an American Standard Hydromassage tub? My wife has some idea that they will be easier to clean. I did look it up on gurgle and apparently the tool is discontinued?
there are a number of suggestions on Google Bob but AS is recommending cleaning them in place by running the tub with an added dawn dish soap/vinegar solution…
NO! Dawn will fill the room with bubbles. Use an automatic dishwasher detergent, it doesn’t bubble up.
Or this.

Yes I’ve seen the google stuff and we have run a made for tub cleaner through the jets. If you look closely at the picture I posted the black gunk on the outside is what she wants to remove. Four slots are visible on both the nozzle and escutcheon, but I have been unable to find a tool that fits them.
The irony of the whole deal is the hydromassage is no longer used as she just takes showers.
time for that walk in shower…
american standard recommends dawn by name…
If you have the tool part number, it may come up on e-bay.
Just like kids “soaping fountains”.
We used laundry detergent. I don’t think there was a brand named Dawn.
I think Palmolive was the gold standard around here.
It looks like a combination of grease and hair. Maybe GoJo using an old toothbrush would work, then use dawn.
I seem to remember Jacuzzi recommending a diluted bleach/water mixture to clean the fungus on the corrugated jet lines.
This thread was about removing the jets. You have added nothing. I’m not surprised.
Bob, I’ve used thin needle nose pliers to remove similar type “fasteners”. Have to be long enough to open to the width and clearance. Insert the ends into the slots and see if they turn or break loose.
Disclaimer: This may or may not work!
Still can’t read I see. Or maybe it’s a comprehension problem.
