Analyze this Home Inspection

California Buyer. The advice you are getting here is all good advice. It sounds like you need to figure the cost of these repairs and whether they are within your financial and/or skill abilities level, on top of whether you want to take on the repairs at all. If you are looking for a turn key home, this doesn’t sound like the home for you. If you are looking for something discounted so you can quickly build some ‘sweat equity’, this could be for you. The date of the report also brings up whether you have had the benefit of actually being at the inspection and have the house explained to you by a professional…or simply had someone hand you a report. There is a huge difference between getting an inspection report and actually getting an inspection. You might be well advised to have a new inspection done for YOU, one where you attend the inspection.
Good Luck.

I agree, and I can help if you’re in SoCal.

Having an inspector onsite to explain and show you these defects will give you a much better idea of the severity. There’s not much in your list that would have me concerned, but that would be assuming this inspector was experienced and thorough.

There were a few comments that leave me wondering how experienced this particular inspector actually is, so it wouldn’t surprise me if additional defects are discovered in the next inspection.
