Do you think it would be wise to already be doing home insepctions and try to also get your Appraisal lisence as well. And be able to do both home inspections and appraisals? Please let me know what you think.

better hurry up, i think the hours as far as education is concerned goes up in 2007-08. where people will start needing college of sorts. its not a bad gig. lets say the market softens a bit and your only doing one of them your stuck. but if you have both its something else to lean on. i find your doing the same type of investigative work on some aspects of it. try appraisalinstitute.com and appraisalfoundation.org

Sean, I am an appraiser. Before you do anything come over to the Appraiser Forum and read a bit. You may have second thoughts about it when you learn the truth about the job. I am trying to get away from Appraising because it has become such a nasty job.

90% of the Appraisers that post regular are top notch and very ethical appraisers. I can say I have learned more off that board than any class I have ever taken. Some of the guys on here are probably the best in the industry.
And yes, Appraising is not what it used to be just 10 years ago when I started. It's getting to point I am not proud to be an appraiser any more.
