Attic access ladder

Does anyone have a good reference to pics depicting the proper way to secure attic access ladders to ceiling joists. I have seen many of homes that are not using 16d nails or lag bolts. Instead are using Sheetrock or wood screws.

Many of the pull down ladders, I see, instruct the installer to put a couple of those 16 penny nails through the holes provided in the hinge metal. icon_wink.gif
