Yeah OK, its wrong, but exactly why is it wrong?


1. Romex wires are subject to damage and should be in conduit.

2. At some point not pictured, the Romex wires are forced to bend when the stairs are opened. Romex wires are not rated for installations where the wires need to flex.

I am fairly certain that there must be a provision in the NEC for fixtures that are not mounted to a fixed stationary object, but I have never come across it.

Anyone else?

This was the only access to the attic. The original scuttle within the Bedroom closet had been removed.
