But this policy does not extend to our open message board which is where I posted his press release.

First ever Certified Master Inspector ? class to be held in Orlando, Florida

The Nation Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI) and MSI International, Inc.'s BestInspectors.Net are proud to announce that the first ever course leading to the Certified Master Inspector certification will be held in Orlando, Florida, 30 January - 3 February 2006. The course was developed by Nick Gromicko, Founder and former Executive Director of NACHI and George Wells founder of BestInspectors.Net and president of MSI International, Inc. MSI International, Inc. is the parent to both BestInspectors.Net and Management Science Institute. George Wells is also the founder and president of the NACHI Great Lakes Chapter.

Nick Gromicko is the master architect behind the development of the Certified Master Inspector program. Nick and George are a team uniquely qualified to have developed the CMI certification. MSI has a long history of professional certification programs that follow internationally accepted protocols. The CMI designation is unique in the home inspection industry. Nick's goal has been to raise the professionalism of home inspectors to entirely new levels, consistent with other professionals in closely related industries. After careful consideration, Nick approached George to co-develop a training course that will lead to the CMI designation. Nick recognized that MSI is well known and respected for providing continuing education programs that promote professionalism and going well beyond the basics. MSI is an Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB, formerly OCIEB) and Michigan Department Of Construction Codes training agency. MSI has the experience and expertise to take home inspectors to a level that other training organizations are not able to do.

This historic event will be one of the most significant in the entire history of the home inspection industry. The class will coincide with the home inspection event of the century, the annual NACHI convention. The first ever Certified Master Inspectors will walk through the door at the convention on Saturday morning.

Not everyone who attends the class will qualify for the CMI certification. CMI certification requires the successful completion of the class and meeting other qualification requirements. Everyone who successfully competes the class will obtain standard certification both from NACHI and MSI. NACHI is also offering the first year of membership in NACHI free to every new NACHI member who successfully completes the course. Those who meet all other qualification requirements will receive the CMI certification upon completion of the course.

Registration is now open. The registration fee does not include the processing fee for the CMI certification. The CMI certification fee will be paid directly to NACHI. The registration fee includes the course and all course materials, standard certification from NACHI and MSI, and one year of membership in NACHI for new members. For additional information about the course, contact BestInspectors.Net at information@BestInspectors.Net. For additional information about the CMI certification contact Nick Gromicko at gromicko@msn.com.

We all post many press releases from many people, companies, and governement agencies in an effort to keep our visitors informed. The thread title typically explains what it is and who it is from (as this one does). The press release themselves explains even further (as this one does).

The message board is full of press releases. It has nothing to do with me personally. Why use my name in your complaint about it.

Did you email the company expressing your opinion that it is silly for them to create an offer open only to some NACHI members and not to others? Did you ask them to open their offer up to all members? What have you done about it?

My understanding is the course is taking place before or after the convention so that I don’t have to fly down twice (I need to be present for it), but George would know.

We're going to run some tests on our http://www.nachi.org/cmi.htm exam on the students before and after the course.

This is my understanding of NACHI's current position on the issuing of a CMI professional designation from NACHI.
