brick veneer on block foundation

I inspected a new home today on an 11 month warranty inspection.

The brick veneer overhung the block foundation by 1.25 inches (2.25" of brick was bearing on block). I flipped thru the IRC book and did not see a requirement.

Does anyone know what is the minimum bearing width on a block wall for a brick veneer?

Its not uncommon. ITs a veneer, and has wall ties also holding it all togheather. Not the best, but should be fine.
It’s also a good example of why you don’t bolt decks to wood framed veneers.

Some codes specify a maximum overhang. In Ontario (Canada) it is a maximum of 1 inch (25.4 mm).
