BuildFax and NACHI have created a new partnership in an effort to help NACHI inspectors gain access into the records pertaining to homes they are about to inspect. By creating this new partnership NACHI members will be able to use the services of BuildFax to obtain a property history report. A BuildFax? Property History Report provided by a NACHI home inspector reveals the permit history for the property.

Do you have a sample of what a report will look like? If yes, please post so we can see one.

Hello everyone!

Mike Pelz from BuildFax here to help answer any questions as we roll this new service out. I'm going to start a new thread dedicated specifically to answering BuildFax related questions on the message board. Joining me from time to time to help answer questions will be Patrick Braswell.

Since only yesterday, we've already received a ton of interest from NACHI members---Nick doesn't lie when he tells us what this website is capable of!

So far, most inquiries have been related to our coverage area. In a nutshell, we need each of you to tell us what parts of the country, and in particular the jurisdictions, where you do most of your inspections. In most cases, it takes a matter of 6 weeks or so to bring new areas online (some come online in as little as a couple weeks, others take longer due to data cleanliness). We're building a section of the BuildFax website dedicated specifically to NACHI members. This should be complete by the end of the month.

The bottom line is that BuildFax can be wherever you are...we just need to know where you are!

Any of you can contact me at any time:

I noticed a reference to www.BuildingDepartment.com…this is a separate division of BUILDERadius, parent company of BuildFax. BuildingDepartment.com serves building departments and contractors who are interested in implementing our BluePrince software. This division really has no bearing on BuildFax whatsoever.

BuildFax is a separate service offered at www.BuildFax.com and can be implemented in any jurisdiction, regardless of what software program they are using to run their building department.

Thanks,
Mike

I’ve seen a few posts and gotten several emails of folks inquiring about our coverage, and when we’ll expand into new areas. The short answer is this: tell us where you are (state, city, county) and that’s where we’ll go.

right now, we're launching major metropolitan areas, but the goal of this partnership is to serve NACHI members wherever we can and to give priority to NACHI in our expansion plans. You can help by telling us where you work. Once we know that, we can work to bring coverage to your area in a matter of weeks.

Send me an email or post a reply to: http://www.nachi.org/bbsystem/viewtopic.php?t=10405

I'm keeping a running tally of where we're headed next.

Thanks,
Mike

Mr. Pelz,

First, I think this would be a great benefit to my customers. And the retail of $9.95 is not bad. Just wondering if terms of member pricing have been decided yet? Like I said, $9.95 is not bad, but the more cost we add to overhead, the higher our prices need to go eventually.

Thanks for your interest in helping the members here.

We’re currently working with Nick to determine NACHI member pricing…details to come soon, but suffice to say there will be a sizable chuck cut out of retail pricing for NACHI members. Only NACHI members will be eligible for this discount, and BuildFax will not be partnering with any other Home Inspection Association.

This is great…due to the amount of interest in this program, I’m putting together a rapid growth plan that should help expedite launching new coverage areas. We’ll have that plan up on our website within a couple weeks on the new www.buildfax.com/NACHI section of the site.

The buildfax.com/nachi section will be devoted to serving home inspectors and promoting other NACHI-BuildFax objectives. We're also working out a way to promote NACHI home inspectors directly to consumers and realtors on the main webpage, www.buildfax.com.

I'll keep everyone updated...

Mike, thank you for all your trying to do. This alliance with NACHI sounds like a win/win situation and your setting a precedence to which I hope others will see the benefit and flow your lead.

Thank you again.
