I have seen a business website in my area with InterNACHI logo, but i don’t see any of the inspectors listed as members ? Is this a common thing that happens. They also have the national Home Inspector exam passed logo, but not listed on the EBPHI website.
I think it’s pretty common for past members to let their membership expire and not update their website… or, just outright lie I suppose. When I was involved with a smaller, local association we tried to address this and it can be a hassle to chase the people down and get anywhere. I’m sure with enough money and time anything is possible but we just gave up.
In the past, when the information was sent to fastreply@InterNACHI.org or Nick@InterNACHI.org , Nick made sure they received a cease and desist letter/email…as I recall. That may help.
There is a guy in my area who claims to be A CMI and a member and he’s neither.
He gets reported regularly. He gets his cease and desist letter from Inaternachi, he takes the logos down for a while, and then puts them back up until the next letter. Then he just repeats the whole process.
He even steals material from my website, Jeff Pope’s website, etc.
We’ve sent him cease-and-desist emails, messages, and letters, but he just doesn’t care.
Ok so sounds like its just not worth the time to deal with.
Thank you, just the info I was looking for.
There are two dozen inspectors in my area who claim, or employers claim, that they are CPI, but are not. I’ve reported them, but InterNACHI doesn’t seem to care.
Rich, I have reported to my state, Ohio, inspectors that are inspecting and are not licensed which is required in Ohio. After reporting this some months ago they are still inspecting!
