I did this inspection today in a house built in 1930. I ran across some receptacles that I am not familiar with.


Any insite would be appreciated.

Sure.


What you have is a 20 amp 125/250 volt configuration receptacle. This is a 3 wire, non grounding type configuration. NEMA 10-20R or 10-20P.

Most likely an old window air conditioning unit. Was this receptacle within reach of a window?
