Cloth wiring in a 1970 house

Visually limited but here ARE the pictures. Is this cloth wiring.House panel is 1973. Insurance is asking me to verify is it cloth wiring.

There’s a form of cloth covered wiring visible (upper left breaker, and the disconnected conductors on right side, looks like they were on the upper right breaker).

The 2-pole breaker on the upper left has what appears to be tin coated copper conductors. As Dom stated there are two similar conductors not being used on the right.

I have never had an company make a issue. They want me to confirm this in not cloth wiring which on the four point there is no clarification. I have done this house before and had no issues. This cloth wiring appears to be insulated and the better form of wiring with a rayon fabric. Would you agree.

This comes up often but what is cloth wiring? Is rubber insulated tinned copper what they’re calling cloth wiring? It appears that is what is present in the photos.

Agreed!

“Rubber insulated, tinned Copper conductors, covered with a fabric sheathing with no visible abrasions”.

Unless you see that wording on the form, answer with what they have given or asked of you.

From what I understand, Fabric-Sheathed Cloth wiring was still used in some homes into the mid-1970s.

Cloth & Varnished-Cloth Insulated Electrical Wiring

Could the detached cables entering the enclosures top right be in a Asbestos Wire Loom for cables?
What sorts of electrical wire are likely to have used asbestos insulation?

No. That is not any type of loom.

Thought I would ask. Thanks.

As for Cloth & Varnished-Cloth Insulated Electrical Wiring. Your thoughts?

Its not that either. Typically those conductors are used in high heat applications like for the wiring within heating appliances. As stated prior the conductors in questions are most likely to be rubber insulated, tinned copper.

I forgot about those series of rubber insulators. Wasn’t sulfur an ingredient in the vulcanization process?
Thanks.
