It’s one of the most underserved industry’s in the country. They remind me of inspectors 30 years ago. They have nothing supporting their businesses.

Can we get a free CPI or CMI tattoo?

The last thing most tattoo shops want is an inspector coming through the door. Just saying!

Why they targeted interNACHI and Nick posted it is amusing in itself… :man_shrugging:

You don’t have to tell them you are an inspector. Anyway, we have a few members already making money doing them, but they have tattoos. I’ll see if I can get one to post a video.

I know, I know. Was just being funny. Thanks for posting opportunities for inspectors. I only have one tattoo place within like 30 miles or so, but those in bigger metro areas probably have quite a few I suppose.

Sad day for our industry if you have to promote this…Sorry Nick…

I don’t have to. But if some of them are making money at it, good for them. One of my own construction employees, Albert, hasn’t worked for me in 3 months. He’s been doing this for the past 3 months. He’s all tatted up though, so he gets it. It’s an artsy industry, run by artists, many of which aren’t great businesspeople and need help.

I have numerous businesses that have nothing to do with inspecting, and so I can’t really knock someone else for having multiple income streams.

Just this week, I bought into a closed-cell insulation company. We get our first truck in two weeks.

So basically it’s a sales job pretending it’s not a sales job.

Lame.

Correct, it isn’t really sales. You don’t get them to sign on a dotted line or buy anything. You just feed them to a demo. It’s more accurately brand ambassador work and lead generation. It pays pretty good. Albert does 8 a day.

This is a distraction, “Keep the Day Job” you’ll make more money focusing on your business unless you just want to become a salesman and leave Home Inspection.

If you are interested in a good sales job in the coastal areas of NW-FL, AL, MS, LA or SC calling on insurance agents, realtors, roofing contractors and builders, Call me, I have a good one with a nice residual. You’ll make thousands more that you would calling on Tattoo parlors. (850) 748-0565

Tampa & St. Pete are ripe with low hanging fruit.

None. They are similar to what the inspection industry was 30 years ago.

So, call a bunch of tattoo shops to get an appointment, say 30 mins of calling around.
Get an appointment.
30 minutes getting ready and drive there.
10 pitch
20 drive home.

So an hour and 1/2 to make $20. As long as you don’t get stuck in traffic.

So like maybe $13 an hour.

McDonalds pays more than that.

8 a day? So $160.

So like, less than 1/2 an inspection.

Seems like a good way to end up being distracted from running a business.

Well, you get another $20 (each) when they attend the demo and another $20 (each) if they sign up. And the conversion rate is high. I’m thinking it’s something like $350 a day maybe?

Eight a day could help, but I don’t even have eight tattoo shops within a 50 mile radius. :man_shrugging: Lot of ink going on in Colorado.
