Do you have a checklist?
Does it include; the foundation {has it been waterproofed? Does it need to be waterproofed? Be sure to document any water intrusion.}, the sill plate, the floor joists, the subfloor, floor columns? Wood rot,Water damage, termite damage, wood boring insect damage? Mold and or mildew? Animal infestation?
The floor/ground? Ground slope? A vapor barrier and or a lack of vapor barrier? Improper fiberglass installation? Leaking water pipes? Leaking sewage pipes? Improper electrical?
- The list goes on, and on, and on!
Be sure to take a lot, and I mean a lot of pictures. Be sure to review them as you write up your report. Be sure that your “flash” is working!
Be sure to have a good flashlight with a backup and ……wear a complete “haz-mat suit” with gloves, goggles, respirator, and hardhat! You can find all of this at your local Home Depot. You can also buy a really inexpensive haz-mat suit that you can throw away.
- Do not wear them during the inspection and then take them into your car.
Have a minimum of 1 to 2 gallons of water that you can use to wash yourself off with plus disinfectant wipes for your face, ears, neck, and hands.
- Depending on the size of the crawlspace I would not do it for less than $250.00
I hope this helps!:nachi:
