War between the orgs. ![]()
What is that supposed to mean? Are you accusing me of being unethical, Nick?
The question made sense to other people. You just wanted more information before answering it. There’s a difference. There’s also an option that allows you to select that you don’t have enough info to make a decision (“I’m not sure at this time”). Its pretty simple really.
Nope. Not a directory.
It’s not a yes or no question. Perhaps is the best you can get out of me without more information. I advertise in places inspectors from other associations advertise, but it is not by choice that we share the mediums.
All I can do in those cases is to pay more (or whatever is needed) to be more prominent than other inspectors (regardless of organization). It is hard to get clear answers from people without “letting the cat out of the bag”, so to speak.
Criticizing peoples answers will get you nowhere. Try to let go of a little more information and you might get the responses you are looking for, but then your the communications professional.
Robert, are you asking if we would be willing to joint purchase an ad with such a competitor?
That is the question I had. Do you mean:
Share the cost of a single advertisement in the same medium?
OR
Would I advertise in the same medium but with a separate ad?
Poorly worded question.
See post below.
No, Sir. Just whether or not you would be willing to have your company name appear in the same advertising medium. Association names wouldn’t even be a factor unless you or the other advertisers wanted to show an association logo.
I tried to elaborate but the poll’s text field limited my text entry. Nonetheless, the answer to your question is ‘same medium with different ads’.
So, the question should be, “Would you advertise with another inspector from a different association in the same media but with different ads.”
But, like I said, my sentence was cut-off. Once again, I apologize. I hope this is cleared up. I didn’t notice that the question could have been read two different ways until you brought this up, Mr. Stanczyk. Thanks.
I also apologize to everyone else for not catching this.
Robert, no… I was talking about any association that permits its incompetent members to buy praise that they didn’t earn in the free market. It’s nothing more than the bribing of REALTORs to get them to violate their fiduciary duty to their clients (to recommend the best inspectors based SOLELY on merit, not money).
I know. I was ribbing you. Apparently I suck at that, too.
There was a point where I would have said sure I’ll try it…
BUT after reading how you described it … and well tryinging not to woof my cookies I can now say NO Thanks…
Yeah, eating sushi wearing a green shirt makes me want to hurl, too.
No he wants to know if you like Sushi.

Just kidding Robert.
Tough crowd tonight Robert,
More hurdles…
Got it.
I do think that most inspectors do just that anyway. (Of course we would prefer that the other inspectors would just go away). I don’t quite know how scientific either response would be or what the answer would really tell you.
Doing the same in some other medium would depend upon the advantage (or increase in exposure) it might offer. A yes answer to your question probably won’t help you there.

Provided that I found the medium to be worth the money thrown at it, then yes.
Robert,
For those of us that use Home Inspector USA, or American Home Inspector Directory, or Inspector Seek, etc. are already doing that, so my answer is yes.
And, by the way, I feel you are always thinking outside the box, thanks for all you’ve done for me.
