Most screws do not have the shear strength that nails do; they are designed to fasten with holding force in a different direction. Those are definitely wrong for that application and they’re toed in, making it worse.

Only approved screws for hangers are;
#10 1-1/2 in. or longer. External Hex Flange Hex-Head Structural-Connector Screw .
