Do you need a WDO license in NY?

Hi Team,

First off, hope ALL is safe and well through these crazy times!
So I have just graduated and got my license and setting up my biz now.
My question is…If you live in NY do you need to have a WDO License
as a home inspector? I know that certain loans may require it.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Unless it’s changed:

“home inspectors can do a pest inspection, however, home inspectors can not fill out the NPMA-33 form unless they are a licensed commercial pesticide technician or applicator.”

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the response. So if you need the NPMA-33 form filled out then the clients would then need to hire a licensed commercial pesticide inspector?

Licensed HI can fill out the npma33, you don’t need the applicator license as long as you are not prescribing a treatment.
