Driveway of the house in Suffolk Long Island is not paved , can someone comment about it , Isn’t the driveway should be paved ?
Tell us why you think that is the case?
usually when I inspect the driveway being a inspector I look for minor and major cracks and tripping hazard , but the driveway I am talking about was slop downward and uneven and just grassy surface
unfortunately I can’t download the picture at this form
Send it to me @ Nspector.Jeff@Gmail.com and I’ll try to post it for you.
Be sure to send it in it’s max resolution.
Was it stone or dirt?
I’ve inspected many houses with stone or dirt driveways. A driveway isn’t required to be paved, at least IMO.
My opinion also, BUT, does NY have any Ordinances that requires it, thus my original question, attempting to see if the OP has more info for the area he is operating in.
Depending on the local ordinances, a paved driveway may not be allowed either.
Here in the southern Missouri a paved driveway is a luxury, that’s why they make four wheel drives.
Geotextile and grass is a fine driveway option.
So is gravel.
Or pavers.
Or, many options.
Is it functioning as intended?
THIS is a driveway:
Neat stuff, and…
From your link…so is this. Although hard to enter the garage???
As long as a driveway is relatively flat, smooth, sloped to the street or an approved municipal location then its all good.
Note driveway material/s. Note imperfections, tire ruts, poorly sloped, and you are good to go.
Those driveways appear to be abandoned.
Probably were never driveways???
