Dumb or pathetic seismic strapping.

I’ve seen some laughable attempts at seismic strapping for water heaters. Usually a piece of plumbers tape and a drywall screw or two. Today’s took the cake…

It had two straps...the one to the left (not in photo) was dangling in mid-air, attached to nothing, but they managed to hose-clip the remaining one to the GAS PIPE!!! Kind of defeats the purpose somewhat. ![icon_rolleyes.gif](upload://iqxt7ABYC2TEBomNkCmZARIrQr6.gif) (And yes, I know about the transparent TPR discharge line)

I'm sure there are some other "doozies" out there. Anyone else left of the Rockies want to share?
