Exposed splice - should be in j-box.

Improper staple - should be approved for the purpose (no bent nails).

Exposed NM-B wiring - should be in conduit where subject to damage.

White wire not re-identified.

Yes.

Not so clear.

Quote:
334.30 Securing and Supporting.
Nonmetallic-sheathed cable shall be secured by staples, cable ties, straps, hangers, or similar fittings designed and installed so as not to damage the cable........

Almost anything can be used as support if it does not damage the cable.

Article 100

Approved. Acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction.

I can not agree here.

Quote:
334.15 Exposed Work.
In exposed work, except as provided in 300.11(A), the cable shall be installed as specified in 334.15(A) through (C).

(A) To Follow Surface. The cable shall closely follow the surface of the building finish or of running boards.

Just because NM is exposed does not mean it must be in pipe.

That is a judgment call and form what I can see of the picture IMO it is not subject to damage.

Quote:
334.15 (B) Protection from Physical Damage. The cable shall be protected from physical damage where necessary by conduit.....
