Hi. Working on siding inspection training. Question about this wood siding that goes into a stone siding. My instinct is that the current installation could allow water intrusion where they meet. Should there be some sort of flashing at this junction? Thanks for any advice!
JMO, but I would agree with you regarding the potential for water penetration where the siding meets the facade capstones. The capstones should have a downward slope away from the structure and the flashing should be visible from underneath the plank siding and onto the top of the capstone. For example;

There is also supposed to be a space between the bottom of the composite trim and the flashing.
