Hello, what do you write about exposed foundation ties above grade. In my opinion, they are steel exposed to the element and should be parged in order to prevent rust and further damage… what are others saying?
thanks
Alexis

Alexis, I recommend either parging as first choice or a urethane based exterior caulk for those who have or intend to have siding or plantings obscure the foundation walls.
The snap ties need to be filled with a non shrink grout and then parged.
As Greg said, b/c otherwise the concrete job is not complete. I would be checking for voids and honeycomb that was also left unpatched. Anyone too lazy to patch tie holes is not going to fix that stuff either.
Termites only need 1/64" to sneak in.
Do the exposed edges of the snap ties tend to spall as they absorb moisture and rust?
