Nice graphic Nick, but rather than calling it a particleboard, which is usually understood as being,
Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) MDF is a waste-wood product that’s made with fine wood fiber.
Particle Board. Particle board is a waste-wood product that’s made by mixing sawdust with adhesives.
It might be more appropriate to call it;

OSB or Plywood exterior sheathing?
Just my opinion.

I agree. I’m going to have it changed to O.S.B.

IRC uses the phrase “wood panel sheathing,” so I switched it to that: https://www.nachi.org/gallery/general-1/exterior-sheathing-installation

There is an exception to avoiding jack over jack. Can anyone guess what it is?

Can you be more specific on your statement?..I’m not following you.

Nick, are you talking about a Split Jack? That just creates another hinge point in high wind areas.

So it’s when you need a sheer wall in a particular direction, in some cases it’s actually stronger to install the sheeting vertically, smack on top of each other. Rare situation when you have a tall sheer wall.
