Fireplace direct vent leaving soot

What do you think about this? Fireplace direct vent leaving soot on surrounding wall & porch ceiling.

Fire safety concern? Combustion air concern? Both? Neither?

You would have to look at the manufacture’s install manual for clearance.

I would have it looked at, but it could be just causing ghosting as well as.

I do not typically see soot with a manufactured fireplace. Was it sealed or did it have an accessible firebox? Maybe someone threw their divorce papers into the fire

Improperly placed / positioned gas logs will create soot.

As has been stated, look up the specifics for this model (data pate under the firebox typically) to learn about the clearances at the termination.

I see soot stains on most DV fireplace wall terminals and surrounding surfaces. What did the logset look like? Installed and positioned correctly?
Any rock wool impinging on the burner bar?

It honestly didn’t dawn on me to take a closer look at the fireplace, in regards to the soot. It seemed to operate as intended.

hah yea, maybe. It was sealed. I was a little curious about the soot at the time also

Stains are likely a combination of grease from the grill in the pic and an improperly vented gas fireplace. I would recommend further evaluation of the fireplace vent location by a qualified installer.
