Kevin,
If you're trying to hook my mermaid, you have to make her turn around and hold that fly fishing rod a little longer in the water. She'll bite. Like this...

John,
Well I wish I could post that pix, but the truth of the matter is (1) 20 lb peacock was caught in our party-and that was the biggest. I caught many in the 12-13 lb range but no lunkers. None the less, had a great time, learned alot about the country and the Brazilian people, and yes did catch a couple piranha.

Sorry about all those spelling errors guys…
It's hard to type with a kid between you and the keyboard.
John... if I'd seen a bass like that, I would have been speechless!
(that or cried because I wasn't paying attention)
There are several state run ponds around here that I frequent. Most locals say they never catch anything, but I've landed some dandies out of 'em. Biggest was a 6lb largemouth I dragged out of the weeds.
I used to go every evening after work (before marriage and kids) and make a point to catch nine bass in each of two ponds before I went home (usually succeeded). Many times I would show up to see some old man on the other side fishing away... I'd land three in about fifteen casts... old man cusses something awful, packs up and leaves.
It's funny about the fly fisherman... I picked that up just to change things a little. Wanted to catch something other than bass... first fish I catch is... you guessed it... a bass.
Now if I'd caught a mermaid..........!
