Folding step ladders

Hi to all,

I just found a really neat set of steps at my local discount house and thought I’d share some photos of these with you. Personally I hate carrying ladders around with me as I use a station wagon for business, and hate roof racks, also with these you are less likely to bump walls and trim in the house. icon_cool.gif

Closed they measure about 64" x 6" x 3"

They only weigh 12lbs

The only down side is that they are only rated for 225lbs (so Nick can't use them )

They are made by "easy-stor" and they are available on the net for just over $100:00, as I said I found them at a discount store for only $50:00, so it's worth shopping around.

Ps here is a link to the main distributore web site it appears that they sell direct in either 5' or 6' models (mine are the 5')

I used to use the 6’ ones. A little precarious for us chubby guys unless you really open it up all the way. Be careful closing it up. I used to get my hand skin pinched sometimes.

The main reason I liked them was not because you could get them in the car or truck easy. I liked them because you could get them up and down the stairs without banging up the walls and spindles.

I'm assuming Gerry has seen http://www.nachi.org/fatnick.htm

Been wondering if anybody had used those. I always thought they would be nice to have and now I will have to go out and buy one. We have a lot of two story homes in this area and every year it seems like there are more steps to the second floor and the LG has grown in size and weight.

For those interested this company has a similar model that is a step ladder and also unfolds to become a straight ladder.

My Little Giant model 22 1A arrived yesterday. Yee Ha! It will replace two of three ladders that I carry. I can’t wait to use that sucker.

I recently bought a Gorilla Ladder. Works great! I can use it as a step ladder, or open it up to a 13’ ladder. It saves bringing an “indoor” ladder and a bigger outdoor ladder. Home Depot has them on sale for $99.
