Depending on local jurisdictions, vent connectors for wood stoves should not be connected to chimney flues that serve other appliances. Under no circumstances can a wood stove share a flue with a gas appliance. Under some conditions, wood stoves and oil burners can share a flue. They both must be on the same floor and the oil must be higher than the wood in most jurisdictions. In some cases, two wood stoves can share a flue. In most jurisdictions where this is permitted, the smaller stove must be above the larger stove where they enter the chimney. Both must be on the same floor level.

Yes proper terminology should be used in the question, that has not been stated clearly in my opinion. Are you speaking about air duct or chimney flue? I think from the question, that you mean flues.

Yeah…this QOD got a little gummed-up. I’ve seen and inspected gas, oil and electric furnaces, but not yet a wood furnace. Unless, of course, by wood furnace the question would be referring-to a fireplace with a heatilator capability installed.

Up here where I live some people still have one unit furnace that burns oil or wood. The oil burner is used to ignite the wood. Or you can use the oil burner if you run out of wood.
