Furnace vent and DWV stack into chimney

Both vents enter a brick chimney. I could not see how the DWV stack was terminated in the flue. The furnace vent went vertically up the bottom of the chimney and stopped about 3 ft below the chimney top (no weathercap on chiminey). The vent was single wall in an unheated attic, but that is another issue.

So is this an approved termination of the furnace exhaust?

Is this an approved way to terminate the DWV stack?

I called them both to be investigated by appropriate technicians.

The furnace vent is too close to combustibles and the plumbing stack should not terminate into a chimney.

Geeze, I guess no one wanted to penetrate the roof due to it's slope.

The flue should not vent into the chimney unless it is lined. The flue gasses will erode the motar
