I belive that CA is still on older UBC based codes that would require a self-closing door per UBC 302.4X


The majority of the country now follows the IRC, which does not require a self-closing garage door (per R309.1)

Russell … I understand that CA has only proposed the adoption of the NFPA model codes (mixed in with some ICC model codes) slated for 2007. But hold the phone, Arnold just may “terminate” that … icon_lol.gif
