Just want to double check and see if you folks have any concerns with the gas pipe at garage wall/ceiling(other than sealant of firewall needed at penetration)…I guess what I’m asking is: are there any issues with this type of gas pipe being exposed in the garage?
Pic- Looking at the garage/living room wall. Gas line runs down the wall and across the basement to feed the fireplace.
Michael,
That looks like csst, which is fine going through walls and being exposed where it is not subject to damage.
If it’s a flexible appliance connector, those are not allowed to run through a wall.
However, you are correct about the fire blocking/ ceiling penetration.
