I recently joined NACHI and would like you all to know that I am proud to be part of this organization. To help introduce myself I would like to give you a little bit of info about my background.

I live in Northwest Indiana and have been a general contractor for 15 years. I am also a union carpenter. In my early days I worked as a plumber, electrician, and also in HVAC.

I have been wanting to go into home inspection for about a year now and have finally decided to take the plunge.

I have a few questions and will be posting some of them from time to time.

Any hints or ideas from you seasoned inspectors would be greatly appreciated.

Mike,

Welcome to NACHI! You'll find this is a great place to exchange ideas and information. We can be an opinionated bunch, for sure. We also have several committees that are in need of members. You should check 'em out.

Again, welcome to the org and to the boards!

Mike, welcome to the best HI organization. The first thing you need to do is read ALL of the posts on this BB because there is a lot of good information on them. Good Luck.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have been reading some very interesting posts on the BB.

I would like to offer radon testing. Can someone recommend a lab that give NACHI members priority service?

Mike,

I like air chek. I ship the test kits to them in NC via fed/ex overnight. They have the results to you by the next afternoon via the web.

They do have a pro site for us radon professionals and you can get there from their standard site. The address is: http://radon.com
