Use of electrical adapters is not recommended as they can fall out or not provide a good ground so I recommend changing outlet receptacles to a three hole type which provides secure grounding when wired correctly.

There is a remote chance that the 3-prong converters pictured are actually performing as designed - if somehow the face plate mounting screw is actually grounded (e.g. armored cable).

I don’t think I have ever seen one that was grounded though.
