Islamic terrorists are prisoners of a hijacked religion.
When those is the same religion deal with their radicals I might believe they are sincere in their disgust.
America was a British colony, the British army had a right to try to hold it. I’m glad they failed, but I respect their right to try to put down the insurgents. When the British sent 25,000 troops to New York, New York was British soil. I’m pleased the insurgents eventually won and sent the world’s largest army (at the time) back across the ocean.

Shooting at an invading army is not an act of terrorism. I know, you can’t fathom that the people living in the invaded country get to shoot back at the invader/occupier. And when they do, you call them “terrorists”, “insurgents”, or “religious extremists.” I call them patriots. Not my patriots, but patriots for their side. Their side has a right to resist invasion and occupation and is free to use deadly force to resist that invasion/occupation… the same deadly force I would use on them if they tried to set up a military occupation of Boulder, Colorado.
