Help for Siobhan after a botched surgery

Good morning everyone.

This is my sister Siobhan. I started a GoFundMe a couple of months ago to try to help her after a botched surgery left her with a disability, and in intense chronic pain. I shared her story to my social media, but it did not really gain any traction. So after some debating, I decided to share her story here.

The linked page shows a summary of her story in the description, with a full break down of what happened to her and photos in the update section, for anyone interested. What she has been through is heart breaking, especially seeing how much she is struggling, but we have faith. She is a great human being, loving and caring, and would do anything for anyone. She really needs help, and I wish there was more I could do.

Anything anyone wants to do to help her is greatly appreciated, including sharing her story to get it out there.

Thank you all so much for reading this, god bless.

Thank you so much for the support thus far this morning, it helps so much, and it is appreciated tremendously.

So sorry to hear about your sisters issue. May God take away the pain and grant her a normal life.

I have live with chronic pain for some time. Some 40 years now. My wife was scared seeing me crying in my sleep holding my feet. I said it is part of life now.

Last month I woke up in heart surgery after a heart attract with the surgeon asking me to calm down and my fist pointed at the attendants had. I was ready to punch the attendant for putting a pressure clamp on my arm. In other words I woke up during surgery. The day before I had taken the clamp my arm telling them it friggen hurts. 3 days three tries at unblocking arteries. Thank God I Logged myself out and returned 26 days later to have angioplasty.
1 shot. All three arteries clear!!! Not 3 days to get 1.
Yes surgery does not go as planed all the time.

Thanks for the kind words.
Wow, how terrifying, I am sorry you had to go through that, and that you are doing better. Yes, surgeries are risky. I am facing gallbladder issues now myself, and surgeons that want to remove it.

Keep pushing forward, brighter days are ahead.

What I find so amazing about stuff like GO FUND ME, is I’ve seen issues like Siobhan’s with almost no responses whatsoever, then I recently saw 2 other requests on GO FUND ME that to me were ludicrous … One a 28 yr old guy decided he needed a sex change operation because he was really a woman trapped in a mans body / Raised over $28k in slightly over a month.

Another was a obese woman who had gone on a diet, lost 70-80 lbs, and needed a tummy tuck to get rid of loose skin, etc and Raised close to $30k in a very short time.

Good luck & best wishes to Siobhan …

You know what is really funny, as you mention this? I setup this GoFundMe page to help her based on a suggestion from a friend. He showed me a page where a man was asking for help. Long story short, he moved from the east coast to Washington state for a job, and then he was laid off and needed funds to help him and his dog move back. He raised over 70k in a matter of maybe two weeks! I thought, wow, if so many generous people helped him with something like that, then maybe I should give it a shot for her.
I have not had the same luck getting her story out there and seen.
Thank you so much for the kind words, it is very much appreciated.

Yeah, crazy. Imagine a CEO or boss of a large company posting and encouraging donations. His subordinates would be compelled to comply to ensure they stay in the good graces with management. The donation would also have to be in line with their salary and never be anonymous. It happens.

Many donations are made due to social or professional pressure.

Yeah, that’s true. Perhaps that was the reason for his doinations blowing up there.
