Home Inspector Pro vs Spectora

Trying to decide on which to go with. I have used HIP in the past but Spectora’s report looks more modern and professional. Any opinions out there?

This has been a highly-discussed item. Use the search tool and you will find plenty of previous threads. There are plenty of practitioners in both camps that will swear that HIP or Spectora is the best, with each being successful. Ultimately, it will come down to your preference. I chose Spectora for the same reason you suggested, I thought the reports communicated better and were more my style.

I have used something as basic as ReportHost. HIP is similar. I believe Spectora does a much better job in so many ways. Professional deliverable. Support is good.

With any of the software you can make your report look pretty.
I prefer to make mine professional looking. That is why I have always used HIP.

I now recommend Hiptora. :+1:

Sorry for hijacking your thread Joseph, but as mentioned above, there are so many topics on software including the 2 you mentioned. The “search” function really does come in handy…

Put yourself in your clients shoes. What software Is going to produce a report your client can clearly understand.

The report needs to be simple and easy to comprehend.

Bells and whistles for home inspectors equals confusion for customers.

Regardless of what software we use, I think every one of us has been complimented on how professional our reports look. Most customers don’t know what a home inspection report is supposed to look like.

If your narrative’s & photos are bad, that’s a whole different issue and no software is going to hide that.

One is watching a movie on VHS.

One is like streaming a movie online.

Both will work.

With that being said…
The “VHS” has been around for going on 50 years, and is still operational today.
While “streaming” has been around a tad over 20 years, and still has issues to this day!
“New Tech” is not always “Good Tech”!!

“New tech” with respect to inspection reports is pretty important. “Streamers” are the buyers of today and tomorrow, while “VHS’s” are far and few between. The age group of today’s buyers falls into the “streamers” category.

InspectorNexus.com is “new tech”
