[FONT=Times New Roman]**A lot of questions have been asked on which is the best Home Inspection Software Reporting System. Well …. It depends what you are looking for. Some inspectors, have designed their own from scratch. Personally, I think that you should be able to have a demo version, great support, and an affordable price. You should be able to insert pictures, illustrations, and narratives, just to name a few. **

****What do the majority of InterNACHI Home Inspectors use according to our message board: ****
**1) ****HOME INSPECTOR PRO](http://www.homeinspectorpro.com/) , **is the choice for most InterNACHI members (Thanks to Dominic Maricic).

**2) ****HomeGauge , **would be the second choice for InterNACHI members (HomeGuage, has a lot of features that other software companies, cannot even compare).

Mike Weston](http://www.inspectionsoftware.com/Home%20Inspection%20Software%20Identify%20Report%20Professional.htm)** , **Dominic Maricic , George Wells](http://www.bestinspectors.net/) , and Jim and Scott with Report Host are all great people who care about our industry. I have nothing but respect for each and every one of them. Any one of the (5) men above will go out of his way to help you. They all did with me.
· Mike, I owe you one. You have gave me the opportunity that I have been looking for. I have a lot of respect for you, and what you have done for me. (Thank You)

· Dominic, you are cool man.

· George, I would love to have your knowledge.

· Jim and Scott, you rock.

Since it was left out, here is the price for this unknown software.

Option 1. Buy, Identify & Report Professional Single User, Licensed for 2 Computers, All Support and Updates for 1yr $1,495.00. After 1yr Support and Updates $275.00 per yr.

Option 2. Lease Identify & Report Professional 1-5 User, All Support and Updates. $99.00 Per Month.

Good Luck with that.

Actual screen shot shows empty excel type boxes where pictures should be and messed up text at top plus no clickable links to every section as stated.

Why would someone want to pay for support and upgrades?? WTF??

Check out the sample.

That’s sad. They’ll find people stupid enough to buy that crap.

Many false claims which is a bad sign.
Try it out on the ipad

When you can’t see a Sample Report, something is out of whack.

The picture I posted is from the PDF sample Dale.

In eight years, the only requests I have ever had for “sample reports” have come from home inspectors. It must be a regional kinda thing.

http://www.inspectionsoftware.com/HomeInspectionReport.pdf

The top 7 or 8 look better in my opinion and this is more expensive than Horizon.

I think the poster is selling software, if you can’t see a complete report besides screen shots something is not quite right…in my opinion anyway.

Why wait for a buyer to REQUEST a sample report. Hell we tell them to check it out and will even send it to them. Why? I want them to see the finsihed product, it narrows the field down considerably and then makes the buyer wonder why they others don’t proudly display their report…

Perhaps…but, IMO, too many mistakenly believe that the quality of a home inspection report has something to do with the software used to publish it. I don’t agree.

If presentation had nothing to do with it you would be correct. What matters more than any contract is having your client understand your process and limitations in ways other than signing a bunch of disclaimers and since unlike you most clients are not half Lawyer we need to convey all information in a way they can understand, and make use of in order to benefit them.
Simple CYA is not an effective form of marketing or a good way to service your client.
There is a good reason that newbies and old timers are more likely to be sued.

What do you use J.B?

You know what? Everyone of you are right. Hey, I have respect for each and every one of you. I agree it is very expensive at first sight. I am just now starting to use it myself.

I paid ($25.00) Twnty-Five Dollars for a Fujitsu tablet/PC, that was sent to me in Virginia from California in only (2) two days. I can cancel at any time and pay ($500.00) Five-Hundred dollars for my tablet pc.

Am I trying to sell the software. Yes and No. I have included some of the most visited Home Inspection software reporting software, for new home inspectors to decide and choose for themselves.

If any of the software would sell, yes - I would get a percentage.

One of the reasons that I get mine so cheap is because, I am helping to make it one of the best out there. If the price does not come down really soon then I will go back to Dominic, with Home Inspector Pro.

Bob, Linas, Dale, Russell, and James, I have learned from each of you on the message board different areas for over a year now. I respect each one of you and I mean no harm. You (5) five are some of the best that InterNACHI has, and I do not want to make myself an enemy.

The message board was created so that we all can learn from each other, and to help a fellow inspector out. I know that one day, I will need your advice on something that I may not know or fully understand.

When that day comes, I will be honored when you (5) five respond. I am going to revise my original post and just have it to where some of the newer inspectors can have a quick reference for software choices,

Thanks for the feedback.

Mike, I’m curious what is is that you’d like Home Inspector Pro and HomeGauge to do that they don’t do right now. What additional features are you looking for? We’re about to release HIP 3.0 with a lot of new features and I might be able to fit another in before the release.

Mike -

Which Fuijitsu Tablet?

Michael:

[FONT=Times New Roman][FONT=Times New Roman][FONT=Times New Roman]Dominic, I would love for you to have the Googlemaps**, and MLS Listing, Bilingual English to Spanish, voice recognition, and the force payment on inspections, along with IAC2 Mold Report Writer, Illustrations](http://www.pvsoftware.com/products/Illustrations.shtml)** / ****graphics and Narratives. Other than that I cannot think of anything. ****
Dominic, another thing you may consider in the future …… Purchase a lot of handhelds or tablet pc’s, and lease or sell straight out with your software on them.

**Dan, I am using the **Fuijitsu LIFEBOOK T series](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A99lz-3cKoo&feature=related). For my inspections. I also have sketchup for when I need it, and Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011 with GPS.

Hi Mike,

The IAC2 Mold template has been included with Home Inspector Pro for almost 2 years.

Home Inspector Pro as well as almost any other inspection software will work with Dragon Naturally speaking and other voice recognition programs.

Force payment on inspections is coming shortly, it’s implemented in the software, we’re just finishing it up on our site.

You can get free illustrations from InterNACHI and purchase CD’s from other companies. We do not include it as it would increase the cost of the software and not everyone wants them. Instead you can purchase the ones you want from anywhere else and save money.

No software has a translator installed and probably never will. If they do, they won’t be around for long. It’s a HUGE legal liability for you and for us to allow a program to automatically translate the extremely important text in a report to another language. Translators aren’t perfect with normal every day speech. Once you include all the words used during an inspection that translators aren’t trained on you will find all sorts of problems. I’ve gone over this with many attorneys and have talked to other software vendors that have done the same and we’ve all come to the same conclusion again and again. If you want something translated you better know it yourself, or find someone to translate it for you.

GoogleMaps and MLS could easily be added. Since they’re just a click away online I’ve never considered it much of a benefit but it can easily be done.

We won’t ever be leasing or selling devices. We’re not in the hardware tech support business. With tablet prices going below $500, why would anyone want to lease a device that will cost them 10 times as much in the long run anyways? We do install software on inspectors machines all the time remotely if they have any problems.

Dominic,

Alright. I see where you are going with this and I understand much better now. I am considering using Home Inspector Pro. There are just so many different choices. I don’t know if you remember me since you deal with so many different inspectors, but I remember you. I respect you and what you have done for our industry.

I am very old fashioned, so computers are still a little new to me. I understand that technology is the way to go, as far as making your reports look better. I am InterNACHI through and through … regardless of which system that I use. Since, in my original post - I did mention that you are the # (1) one choice of InterNACHI home inspectors, I am considering using only Home Inspector Pro.

Disclaimer: I have made mistakes and will make many more, but I learn from my mistakes.

Dominic, I do have InterNACHI illustrations on my computers, thanks to Nick Gromicko. I have read most of your posts and Bob’s as well. I am not cutting you short, you are (1) one of the best, and you respond better than anybody that I have dealt with, other than Nick Gromicko.

I have made up my mind and when things slow down to where I can think better, I will purchase Home Inspector Pro. I will need help in the future with the templates, I already know that. I am very busy, so I may not respond but once or twice during a month, but I will be in touch.

No hard feelings?
