How can I work with Realtors to get new leads?

I will be working as an inspector soon and would like to know what i can offer to realtors if they bring me leads. Any insight or tips? Thanks so much!

Buy a quality pair of knee pads and offer them your services.

Beyond that you should be offering your potential clients a great service instead. If the RE Salespeople do not like your work because you are doing a great job that will weed out the RE Salespeople you don’t want to deal with. All the rest that refer you are the ones that are concerned about their clients obtaining a great inspection.

Free advice and consultation on properties.

This includes answering their calls and showing up at their listings for free, when they need help figuring out something.

Make yourself indispensable to them and they will refer you to their clients.

“But it costs me money to do that”. Yup. Sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug.

If you’re their first call every time they have an issue, you’re their first recommendation too.

When you do end up with one of their clients, do an excellent job, have great service so they are comfortable with you managing their clients. This way, if you get a dog of a home, the REA will understand and appreciate that YOU saved their client from a POS home.

The answer is simple. Though not easy.

  1. Join InterNachi and actually be a member.

  2. Read every post in the Marketing Forum (which you can’t see because you’re not signed in as a member).

  3. Implement the ideas posted in the marketing forum (most new inspectors forget this part).
