Every structure is required to have a grounding electrode system. If they are present in the structure, they must all be bonded together. If a detached structure has a remote distribution panel located at the structure, then it requires a grounding electrode system of its own. The equipment grounding conductor in a 4-wire feeder does not take the place of the required grounding electrodes.

The above is quoted from the course. My question: If the remote distribution panel requires a grounding electrode, is a bonding bar now required in the RDP also?

Hi, I noticed something in one of the illustrations used for 3-phase Panels. The second diagram shows the sine waves for 2 phase 90 degrees apart. I never heard of this, and always thought the two different “hot” wires were 180 degrees apart, in residential systems. This allowed, a while back of course, for the use of a common neutral, with two hots, without overloading the neutral, thereby saving copper. This was disallowed at some point. For what it’s worth, wikipedia backs this up.
Of course, 120 degrees for 3 phase systems.

I am learning a lot from these courses, thanks!

Learning a lot from this course

Just completed the course and exam. Pretty concise for residential inspections.
Would still like to print course work as I go along in pdf format for my files.
I would also like to know questions I got wrong so I can correct my errors by re reading applical course sections.
Still having a little problem navigating from end of exam to print certificate page.
Otherwise happy with the process.
Thanks Ben for your work.
