Do any inspectors test the safety switch on an air handler? And how? or is it just visual.

covers are removed to check components this should turn unit off
depressing & replacing cover turns unit back on
write them up often & shoot vid for my record of audible fan operation when switch is not depressed

And show us what safety switch you are talking about.
If you mean the blower compartment door switch, that is easy, remove the door, if furnace shuts down it works, if not write it up. That is the only safety switch I test.
